About Kristin Blexrude
Through art I interpret my life experiences. As life is constantly changing, my jewelry designs and artwork are in a constant state of evolution. After moving to L.A. in 2006 and experiencing the lifestyle here, my work has evolved to embrace classic glamour with a distinct modern edge. My most recent work transforms Old Hollywood icons in to modern jewelry pieces, mixing timeless elegance with today’s fast paced lifestyle.
My Artwork has always been a way for me to travel to exotic places in my imagination. I bring out the contrast of these scenes by enhancing the shadows and reflections to bring intensity to my paintings. I feel the power the piece can bring through bright colors and contrast. I also have a deep appreciation for animals which is evident in my artwork. Endangered Species are often the subject of my artwork as I feel that acknowledgement, education, and conservation are important to ensure their survival in to the future.
There has always been an underlying relationship between pleasure and pain in my jewelry designs. Many of my designs have sharp, strong, edges contrasted with soft, flowing curves. Always designed with the comfort of the wearer in mind, even the most edgy of my designs are surprisingly comfortable. My jewelry designs evolve through the process of creating them, letting intuition guide my decisions.
I enjoy working with all metals and can design in 18K and 14K Yellow, White, and Rose Gold, Platinum, Palladium, Fine and Sterling Silver, Copper, and Brass. The gemstones I use in my designs are of the highest quality, direct from the stone cutter. The Diamonds I use in my designs are GIA graded, and Canadian Diamonds are available as well. I use many different gemstones in my designs, my favorites include opal, tourmaline, and sapphire.
Custom designs are my specialty and I am happy to use any gold or metal you may have to use for your design. I also specialize in designing custom settings for any loose gemstone you may have. I work one on one with the customer to ensure complete satisfaction and together we can create a beautiful and unique jewelry piece.
